The new addition that Facebook is creating is called the expandable ad unit. The ad unit will not only advertise a page but will give Facebook users the opportunity to "like" and recommend a brand or company. Facebook believes that giving the customers the ability to "like" or recommend an advertisement will drive others to actually use a product or go to a business.
I think that this is a very good idea. People like to know other people's opinions about a product or service before purchase. A multitude of people use Facebook and other social media sites, and seeing an ad with a great number of "likes" and comments would be so much more convenient then having to go to a forum and read a ton of reviews. However, I guess this slightly depends on what product or service you're considering. If I were purchasing a car I wouldn't just solely base my opinion of a "like" button.
Facebook is creating better ideas, so I don't understand why people are complaining. Things need to be revamped to improve. We will all figure this new Facebook stuff out in time.
I partially agree. I think with real-time media, it is hard to stay the same for a long period of time without becoming "outdated." My only problem has been there seems to be no consistency! I really like the new adventures that I partake in trying to figure out the updates to Facebook, but I also like knowing how to navigate through a social media site that I use multiple times a day. Like you mentioned, it will take some getting use to, but I wish I didn't have to get use to something new two to three times per month.
